ABOUT | Micro-Internship Solution
THE PROGRAM HAS (3) OBJECTIVES:
• Eliminate student poverty
• Help prepare students for the new workforce
• Strengthen students entrepreneurial experience
THE CHALLENGE:
The combination of student poverty, increased tuition cost, unemployment, and underemployment contribute to a dismal college experience. The end results upon graduation: college students are faced with excessive debt, limited employment, and in extreme cases, homelessness.
THE PROCESS:
The Micro-Internship Program offers students the ability to participate in a multi-year internship; working in several environments non-profit organizations, corporations, small businesses, and local government. This multi-year internship provides students an opportunity to experience their career choice from various vantage points.

OUR PARTNERS

MICRO-INTERNSHIPS | Types
LOCAL GOVERNMENT INTERNSHIPS:
Internships with local government create an opportunity for students to gain experience and knowledge of how local government serves as a hub in community.
CORPORATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS INTERNSHIPS:
Corporate environments demonstrate the importance of systems and structure; providing students with a culmination of experiences where best practices can be observed. Interns are able to experience the benefit of strong organizational structure that provide a contrast between corporations and small businesses. The insight gained from this collaboration can be enriching as students graduate, develop companies, or venture into their professional career paths.
LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS INTERNSHIPS:
Through collaboration with local Chamber of Commerce and Merchant Associations, interns are able to experience working with local small business owners; gaining an understanding of the commitment that is necessary to be successful. Interns gain an understanding of the various developmental benchmarks associated with an evolving enterprise. The opportunity to experience business in it's various stages of development furnishes a keener insight to college students.
NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS INTERNSHIPS:
Help interns to realize the value of meeting the needs of community members. Interns realize the positive results that occur in the lives of men, women, and children of all age groups and ethnicities. The personal insights gained by interns help strengthen the understanding of humanitarian efforts.
